Part of the fortune estimated at around R$50 million of Jô Soares (1938-2022) was donated to charities that care for people with autism. This is what Flávia Pedras, the presenter’s ex-wife, who died exactly two years ago, said.
A significant portion of his assets were donated to four institutions in São Paulo, Amazonas, Rondônia and Mato Grosso, he said in a chat on Conversa com Bial (Globo).
With no heirs, single and an only child, Jô changed his will a month before he died. In the final clause, he expressed his wish to be cremated.
According to the document, 10% of his fortune would be shared with four employees who worked for years in his duplex apartment on Avenida Higienópolis, in the central region of São Paulo. The property, with 628 m², is now for sale for R$11.2 million.
They were Antonio Roberto Colossi (3.6%), Marlucy de Oliveira Costa (3.2%), Marycleidy de Oliveira Costa (1.6%) and Sebastião Kassen Moreira dos Santos (1.6%). Jô left behind personal objects and a library of more than 5,000 books.
Flávia received 80% of the inheritance, and the other 10% went to Claudia Colossi, a friend of the presenter.
In the chat, Pedras also mentioned that he turned the presenter’s ashes into a diamond. “It’s in a safe, kept. I don’t know what to do with it yet, but I want to make a charm.”
