The movie ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ has already created a lot of buzz in the movie world and fans can’t wait to see what this much awaited meeting has in store for them.

However, behind the spotlight and impressive developments, an interesting backstory is revealed regarding the original thinking of the screenwriters for the film.

Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, the film’s screenwriters, revealed in an interview with IndieWire that they originally planned a scene with Robert Downey Jr., hoping the actor would reprise his iconic role as Tony Stark/Iron Man. This scene, they noted, was inspired by Ryan Reynolds, the film’s star, who gave them the idea to cast Downey.

The idea seems extremely tempting: an appearance of Iron Man in the world of Deadpool and Wolverine could provide an unforgettable scene full of action and humor. However, Downey Jr. he turned down the offer, which the writers fully understand, as the actor has already landed a major new role as Doctor Doom in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
