Estrela da Casa debuts with low ratings on Globo, but does not lose to Corinthians on SBT

One of Globo’s main bets for the second half of the year, the reality show Estrela da Casa did not have a good debut in audience numbers this Tuesday (13).

The program even had repercussions on social media, but suffered from competition with the match between Red Bull Bragantino x Corinthians, for the round of 16 of the Copa Sul-Americana, on SBT.

According to preliminary data from Kantar Ibope, obtained by F5show that the show hosted by Ana Clara Lima scored an average of 14 points in Greater São Paulo. Each point is equivalent to 191 thousand viewers in Brazil’s main TV market.

At the same time, SBT scored 9 points with the match and came in second place. Record, with the biblical soap opera “Genesis” (2021) and the film session Cine Record scored 4 points. Band with MasterChef Brasil got 2 points.

The Corinthians vs. Bragantino game was broadcast from 9:30 p.m. to 11:24 p.m. During that time, SBT achieved an average of 9 points with peaks of 10. Globo had 20 points. Record had 5 points and Band only had 1.

After 11:10 pm, in the final stretch of the match on SBT, Silvio Santos’ channel came close to taking the lead. In the last 15 minutes of the game, the game managed 10 points against Estrela da Casa’s 12 at times.

Globo expects the numbers to increase over time. The program has already achieved its first goal: commercially, it is already repeating the advertising success of BBB.

There are 13 sponsors in total: Mercado Pago, L’Oréal, Budweiser, Perdigão, Mercado Livre, EstrelaBet, Comfort, Dove, Brilhante, Hellmann’s and Midea, Kwai and Ballantine’s.

Each of the main sponsors paid out R$45.9 million, which together amounts to R$229.5 million. Taking into account all sales made so far, Globo has already secured R$308.7 million from the program, which already yields a profit.

The fact that the reality show is about confinement and has similar deliveries to what BBB does, in addition to being directed by JB de Oliveira, Boninho, was considered a facilitator for sales in the market.

Estrela da Casa will be presented by former BBB Ana Clara Lima, and has artistic direction by Rodrigo Dourado, production by Maiana Timoner and genre direction by Boninho.

The attraction will be shown on TV Globo, with spin-offs on Multishow, and confinement broadcast 24 hours a day on Globoplay.
