Considered the king of Brazilian music, singer Roberto Carlos paid tribute to presenter Silvio Santos in a show he held on Saturday night (17) in Chapecó, in the interior of Santa Catarina. Silvio died yesterday at the age of 93.

During his presentation, Roberto recalled the special moments that Silvio provided to the public throughout his career on television and asked for a minute of applause, not silence, in his memory.

“The wonderful moments and everything he offered us through his performances will always remain in our memories. Silvio Santos is coming and will always come. He will always be in our memories,” he said.

“He was a wonderful guy, he was no, he is. These guys never were, always are and will be,” he added, asking for the tribute to the presenter.

Silvio Santos, owner and presenter of SBT, died this Saturday (17), at the age of 93. Also a businessman, he was hospitalized in the ICU at the Albert Einstein hospital, in São Paulo.

“Today the sky is happy with the arrival of our beloved Silvio Santos. He lived 93 years to bring happiness and love to all Brazilians. The family is very grateful to Brazil for more than 65 years of coexistence with great joy,” said SBT in the note published on social media.

“For us, Senor Abravanel is even more special and we are very happy for the gift that God gave us and for all the wonderful moments we had together. That wide smile and familiar voice will forever be remembered with great gratitude. Rest in peace, you will always be eternal in our hearts,” the note concluded.
