SBT owner Silvio Santos recently discovered the internet and became a fan of online shopping. The presenter’s new hobby was revealed by his grandson, Tiago Abravanel. The actor even remembered one of the last products he saw his grandfather researching: a Ouija board online. “He would buy the most unusual things. Like that board with letters on it, and then you talk to the glass, kind of mystical,” he said in an interview with Fantástico.
But what is a Ouija board? It’s a pastime that dates back over 100 years and consists of a board with letters, numbers and words like “yes” and “no.” Participants place their hands on a board to try to communicate with a spiritual force, which supposedly moves the board to spell out affirmative or negative answers.
Many people believe that this game can help people communicate with those who have passed to the “other side.” Despite its initial popularity, the Ouija board fell out of favor in the early 20th century and returned to the scene after World War II and remains in use today.
Silvio Santos died this Saturday (17), victim of bronchopneumonia which, according to the medical report, was a consequence of the H1N1 infection.
