The dog that singer Lily Allen, 39, returned after several bad behaviors now has a new family. Lily was canceled on social media after saying she gave up on adopting the animal because it ate her passports.

According to TMZ, the NGO Animal Haven NYC said that Mary, the black Labrador, found a happy ending with a family after being returned to the rescue project, more than three years after adoption.

The NGO’s executive director said it is their common policy to take back animals if adoptions fail and said Lily’s act could be normalized by internet users.

At the time, the singer said she could no longer care for the dog: “And since my children’s father lives in England, I couldn’t get them to see their father again for four or five months, because that damn dog ate their passports. I just couldn’t look at him. He ruined my life.”

The comments prompted a backlash from British animal rights organization PETA. “PETA is begging the singer not to have another puppy. We are sending Lily a mechanical toy dog that requires none of the 24-hour care that a real puppy requires,” the publication said.
