The influencer Isabel Veloso, 18, went viral on social media earlier this year after revealing that she had Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a type of cancer that affects the lymphatic system. At the time, she said she had just six months to live.

On the 11th, Isabel announced the pregnancy of her first child and the news generated several opinions due to the diagnosis of terminal cancer. With the controversy, the influencer’s doctor, Melina Branco Behne, gave an interview explaining that the young woman’s situation was not as serious as it seemed. This Tuesday (27), the influencer decided to speak out

Isabel said she had received a lot of criticism and was relieved that the situation had been clarified by the doctor. “This is the greatest proof that I wasn’t lying. My illness was terminal, I had an estimated life expectancy. I wasn’t sure if the illness would stabilize. It stabilized and I’m not a terminal patient. I’m a patient with palliative care,” she said.

Behne explained that Isabel’s clinical condition is now stable with a small tumor and stagnant growth. “She is under palliative care. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), palliative care is an approach that aims to improve the quality of life of patients and families facing problems associated with serious, incurable and life-threatening diseases,” concluded the doctor who told Gshow. She reinforced that she advised Isabel to avoid pregnancy.

In her outburst, Isabel Veloso spoke about her dream of becoming a mother. Four months pregnant, she complained about the attacks she has been receiving. “I’ve always wanted to have a child and opinions are allowed, of course. But people don’t have the right to think that their opinions can influence my life. I’m not an irresponsible mother either,” commented Isabel.
