Preta Gil leaves hospital after resuming cancer treatment: ‘I’m going home’

Preta Gil received authorization from the medical team to spend a few days outside the hospital after resuming cancer treatment.

The singer said on Instagram that she is going home and thanked one of the nurses for her work throughout the chemotherapy process. “These were difficult days, but peaceful. She is taking away my access. I wanted to thank you, Viviane. I’m even doing some makeup.”

At the end of August, the artist underwent routine exams, which identified the return of the tumor in four different places: two lymph nodes, a metastasis in the peritoneum and a lesion. “Keep praying for me. I’m fine, with a good head, much better than when I started treatment in 2023. Full of will to live”, she said.

This Sunday (8), already in the car, she showed that she was accompanied by a friend, Malu Borges. “Malu went to The Weeknd’s show, I’m going to win two weekends worth of tickets” [fim de semana, em inglês] outside the hospital,” he said.

Preta said that now she wants to go to her house in Rio de Janeiro to see her dogs and plants.

In an interview with Pedro Bial, the singer stated that, after being diagnosed in this region, she blamed herself, especially because of her weight, which was always publicly debated, and for not having taken better care of her diet.

“The issue of my weight has always been a debate in my life, a debate that is even more public than my own. But when the public debate began, I started to acquire some paranoia and some questions for myself,” he said.

“Thank God there are therapists in the world. My doctors said ‘don’t blame yourself, we work here with extremely healthy people who have the same tumor as you’. We can love ourselves the way we are, but we have to understand if this body is healthy. Today I am healthy, I take care of myself, and I am outside the norm, I am not a thin woman.”
