The famous rapper was arrested, Sean “Diddy” Combsafter allegations of sexual assault and trafficking, according to what all the international media are reporting.

The 54-year-old music mogul was arrested by police at the Park Hyatt hotel in Manhattan, his spokesman said, but no charges have yet been made public.

Damian Williams, the US Attorney for the Southern District of New York (SDNY), said that the arrest is based on a very serious indictment and the charges against the rapper will be announced in the near future. Combs’ attorney, Marc Agnifilo, said he was disappointed by the decision and arrest, and spoke of a unfair prosecution of the rapper.

“Diddy is a person with weaknesses, but he is not a criminal”the rapper’s lawyer pointed out. “To his credit, Mr. Combs has been cooperative with this investigation and voluntarily relocated to New York last week pending these charges. These are the actions of an innocent man who has nothing to hide and is looking forward to clearing his name in court.”he added.

Combs’ arrest comes amid a wave of lawsuits filed against him alleging sexual assault and a long-running federal investigation.

A statement from attorneys representing some of those who have filed complaints against Combs said the “a long-awaited arrest is the first step in bringing justice to our clients.” “The evidence is very clear and it was only a matter of time”said the statement by attorneys Rodney Diggs and Tyrone Blackburn. “This is an important step toward justice for all of Mr. Combs’ victims, including my clients. Justice will shine.”

The federal investigation against the rapper has been known since last March. Combs and his lawyers have denied all charges.

Her singer R&B, Cassie,—her real name is Casandra Ventura—sued the rapper in 2023 for sexual assault and rape. Although the two “made it up” and the case did not reach courtrooms, the rapper was forced to issue a public apology after a video was released showing him punching and kicking Cassie in a Los Angeles hotel hallway in 2016.
