Lauren Sanchez on the occasion of the children’s book released with the title “The Fly Who Flew”visited her hometown of Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The Emmy-winning former news anchor -fiancée of Jeff Bezos- shared a series of snaps on Instagram from her visit that were particularly touching. One of them shows her outside the house she grew up in New Mexico with her father, smiling for the camera.

“There’s nothing better than coming home. I traveled to the past. I went through the father’s house with dad. I ate amazing food. Thanks to all my family and friends who came out to support ‘The Fly Who Flew’. Even one of my old teachers came and brought a school yearbook”the journalist captioned and shared one of her school portraits which reveals her first name is ‘Wendy’.

The heroine of her book is a fly named Flynn, who, although not good at school, is curious about life. One of her adventures, when she gets trapped in a rocket and embarks on an exciting journey into space.

“I was on a flight with my kids and a fly somehow got into the cockpit,” Sanchez told People of her inspiration for the book. “My children said, ‘Oh no, that poor fly has been separated from its family!’ And I then answered them: “I don’t know, he will see the world from a completely different angle”. The book is already published by “The Collective Book Studio”.
