The premiere of the documentary “Pra Sempre Paquitas” has been resonating among some of the characters portrayed in the production that recalls generations of Xuxa’s stage assistants.
One of them is Bárbara Borges, who started in the role when she was still a teenager. In a post on Instagram, she says that after watching the 4th episode, she had a very strong crying fit because she felt the pain of the paquitas from generations before and after hers — even though each one had to deal with their own issues.
“We have reached a time when Marlene has made adjustments to improve her behavior (we do not suffer the same as the previous generation) and Xuxa has continued with her omission, blindness and egocentrism. There are many stories within the same story.”
Bárbara believes that one episode to show the New Generation Paquitas and the 2000 Generation Paquitas was not enough to delve deeper and explore what they experienced, especially in issues that she defines as difficult and traumatic.
“We didn’t have the same ‘dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s’ with the key person in this dream: Xuxa.” However, she stated that the comments are not criticisms, but observations “about the group I was part of and about the girls from Generation 2000.”
This week, another former paquita spoke about the documentary’s premiere. Gisele Delaia said she didn’t earn anything to participate in the series and that she will no longer answer questions about it.
“Everyone already knows why this doc was made, let’s stop the hypocrisy. At least I already knew and I still agreed to do it. My life won’t change because of this doc, neither emotionally nor financially.”
