Now you will look flawless and gorgeous
Years ago, the pressure to be photogenic wasn’t as intense. Today, a picture is taken and before you know it, it is shared all over social media within seconds. Looking good in photos has never been so important. But how can you make sure you look good in photos? If you are trying to find the way, don’t stress, we have the solution.
To avoid hitting the “delete” button, we share 10 beauty tips that will help you look and feel your best in photos, whether at a wedding, on vacation, on a night out or any other occasion.
1. Always do the flash test
Since flash photography highlights any make-up mistakes, such as too light foundation or too much blush, it’s always a good idea to take a flash photo before you head out. This way you will have the opportunity to make corrections to your makeup before it is too late.
2. Powder in the nose
“Excuse me, I’m putting some powder in my nose!” It may sound like an ancient line from old movies, but these women knew something. Even if you’re not oily, lightly dab translucent powder on the t-zone, i.e. on the forehead, above the eyebrows and along the bridge of the nose. A shiny face in real life can look oily in photos, so this trick will prevent that without making you look matte.
3. Don’t forget lots of mascara
Using a lot of mascara or even false eyelashes will “open” your eyes and draw attention to them in photos. Since photography “blurs” features, it’s always nice to highlight them as best as possible. Natural eyelashes will give a nice volume without looking fake. Don’t forget also a mascara with a buildable formula for a dramatic effect.
4. Reduce redness
If you have a pimple, try putting a few drops of Visine on it with a cotton swab. It’s also a good idea to put a few drops on the eyes before makeup to make them look whiter and brighter. You can also use green concealer under foundation to keep redness at bay.
5. Selfies are all about angles
When taking a selfie, give the camera to the person with the longest arms. Hold the camera up and slightly pointing down. Also, try not to be the person standing closest to the camera, because you’ll look taller than the others.
6. Avoid SPF
You probably won’t see those words together again, but if you don’t plan on being outside or near windows, you can skip the sunscreen, especially foundation and powder. SPF can create a stark white cast in a flash photo, even if it’s present in a small amount in foundation. Prefer a formula without SPF.
7. Make your teeth look whiter
Remember the color theory you learned in art class? You need it here. Wear lipstick with blue undertones, especially red, to give the illusion of whiter teeth, making your smile stand out in photos.
8. Fill in your brows
Your eyebrows frame your face, so a well-defined brow can make all the difference, especially in photos. Since the photo can highlight our features, take some time to shape and fill them.
9. Glow girl
Even though you don’t want to look shiny, looking bright and sun-kissed in photos will make you stand out. Avoid products with very intense glitter and prefer those that offer a natural glow to the skin.
10. Lip liner
Since parties involve talking, drinking and eating, lipstick won’t have any luck on its own. To create a good base, start with a lip liner. This will keep the lipstick in place throughout the evening.
