Miss Universe Brasil: Competitors expose humiliations behind the scenes of the contest

This year’s edition of Miss Universe Brasil, which crowned Luana Cavalcante from Pernambuco on September 19th, has been the target of comments and revelations. Misses Gabriela Pessoa and Eduarda Dallagnol exposed offenses and mistreatment they suffered behind the scenes of the contest.

Eduarda, representative of Rio Grande do Sul, reported that the lack of organization of the competition, which scheduled meetings at 7 am, with little notice, overloaded and discouraged the missions. “I was tired and disbelieved, unwilling to be part of something so disorganized,” she told Contigo magazine.

The gaúcha also cited a lack of rehearsal on stage, problems with lighting, incorrectly sized shoes and transmission failures.

Eduarda also said that she was publicly humiliated: “They publicly declared that I was not in the Miss Universe profile.” “My dream ended when I realized that it wasn’t a confinement, but rather a place of destabilization in general”, she said.

Just like Eduarda, Gabriela Pessoa, Miss Piauí, also denounced the organization of Miss Universe Brasil. According to the newspaper Metrópoles, the miss received messages from the contest coordinator, Bruna Amorim, who cursed and humiliated her. “What position do you think you are in so you can call me a whore? This is very serious. It was a national coordination,” she said.

“They played with dreams, they played with many things. I entered this contest thinking it would be one thing and I broke my face a lot. I’m helpless because we know one thing: there is fighting, there is pickiness with each other, but I was ‘flopped’ by my own coordination”, added Gabriela.

Miss Piauí said that she decided to expose her experience to prevent the situation from happening again with other women: “I’m not going to let it happen, because I don’t accept another girl going through what I went through. I’m not a girl, I’m a woman , I’m 28 years old, I have a story. They have to think a lot about what they say.”
