Celebrities, drugs and naked people: what the parties organized by Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs were like

In the 2000s, few people threw parties like rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, 54, who is currently in prison on sex trafficking and extortion charges.

According to the New York Times, these events were packed with celebrities and included prostitutes, naked people, drugs and sexual acts.

The gatherings were often called “white parties” or “freak-offs.” Models with angel wings were topless. Waiters served everything by the pool until the sun came up. In 1999, Diddy himself, in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, said that, although many people didn’t want him to promote parties, he wouldn’t stop.

“We’re going to keep having fun, bringing people together from all walks of life. You’re going to hear about my parties, you’re probably going to arrest me, do all kinds of crazy things just because we want to have fun. Anytime you bring a different element into people’s environments , things that broaden people’s horizons, they become intimidated”, he said at the time.

On Conan O’Brien’s show in 2002, Diddy said that what he needed to have at his parties were “beautiful women and locks on the doors.”

In 2009, rapper Xzibit said he saw naked people engaging in sexual activity in a nightclub whose party had been promoted by the rapper. Something similar was corroborated by Khloé Kardashian in one of the 2014 episodes of the reality show Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

“I haven’t gone to bed yet. I got on a plane at 5:30 am for this party. I think half the people there were naked,” he said at the time, after confirming that Justin Bieber was among the guests.

Celebrities who have attended parties include Jamie Foxx and Ashton Kutcher. The latter even refused to comment on what happened at these events while participating in a TV program in 2019. “I have a lot of [histórias] I can’t tell you.”

In recent days, even Beyoncé has become a target, as she attended Combs’ 50th birthday party in 2019. The artist has lost many followers who want explanations about what her relationship with him would be.
