Former player Cafu’s mansion, valued at more than R$40 million and located in a luxury condominium in Alphaville (SP), was sold for half the value, R$20 million, in an auction organized by the courts.

The property has been part of an imbroglio for years and was taken from the five-time champion due to a debt that exceeds R$10 million with Vob Cred Securitizadora. The company collects debts in an action opened in February 2018.

When contacted, Cafu, through his legal team, states that he trusts an appeal that seeks to annul the auction and that is yet to be judged.

“The athlete’s management informs that the legal team is confident in the pending appeals, which will result in a new annulment.” Meanwhile, the buyer faces uncertainty about whether the deal will be completed, as the legal dispute continues. The outcome remains undefined.

The Cafu mansion has a built area of 3,229 m² on a plot of 2,581 m². There are four floors and six suites. It has a swimming pool, society football court, games room, cinema room, trophy room, saunas and elevator.

In August, the São Paulo Court of Justice had denied Marcos Evangelista de Morais’ defense appeal and ordered the auction to take place.
