Paul Cabannes, 33, French comedian living in Brazil since 2015, was involved in a car accident last Saturday (5), on the road between Jundiaí and São Paulo. The comedian is famous for performing stand-up shows about the cultural differences between Brazilians and foreigners.
The comedian’s car was hit by a vehicle on Rodovia dos Bandeirantes, which was traveling at more than 200 km/h, according to what he reported on social media. “Our car hit the barrier and rolled over several times,” he wrote.
In addition to Paul, his daughter, a friend of hers and the driver were in the car. This Tuesday (8), he shared with his followers that everyone is fine: “We are alive, daughter. Your friend Isabela and our driver Ailton too! 50 years from now, you and I will still remember this Saturday, October 5th, that almost took our lives.”
The comedian also said that he had a loss of memory at the time of the accident: “I only remember the huge blow, the glass exploding and then waking up against a safety barrier. I had amnesia for a few minutes.”
After being rescued, the four were taken to the hospital. According to Paul, the car’s armor prevented them from suffering more serious injuries: “That’s what saved my life.”
