On the day of her 90th birthday, Nana Moushuri clarified that she is not retiring from music after her recent statement to the contrary. In particular, she mentioned that she won’t stop, it’s just that due to her age she can’t organize tours like she did in the past. In addition, she emphasized that she is not sick and that she still has dreams.

“I didn’t say I want to stop. You know very well that I don’t often speak in interviews and unfortunately nowadays headlines sell more than content. What I want to clarify is that it makes sense at my age not to plan tours like I used to and that, for better or for worse, the artist is also human.”Nana Moushouri clarified in her interview with “Kathimerini”.

And he added: “I am not sick and I thank God for bringing me to this age. Wanting to give the world your best self doesn’t mean giving up. And the fact that I am speaking realistically does not negate the dream. And I still have dreams. If I were to give one last concert, I would like it to be in Greece, in my country, in the place where it all started for me.”

As for whether she has come to terms with time, the well-known singer answered: “Until now I never thought about him. All I can think of is that I’m getting close to a point where I’m going to “go away” one day. But I also think about what good I will leave, you understand. I want them to say that she sang very well and was a good girl. Nothing else.”

On October 3, Nana Moushuri gave an interview to the German magazine “Der Spiegel”, where it seemed that the singer intended to quit music. He specifically stated: “I want to do a few more shows, and then that will be it. I think I’ve done enough.”

Afterwards, she had mentioned that she doesn’t think she has the right to go on stage if she can’t sing well. “I can’t pretend I’m young. I don’t want to make people suffer. I have no right to go on stage and not sing well, even if the audience applauds me for it.”he had said. In 2008, Nana Mouschouri gave a farewell concert in Athens, but the following year she returned to the stage, after saying that she could not stand being away from her audience.
