Mother of a now 10-year-old daughter, Anna, h Vicky Voliotis certainly follows closely and with concern the phenomena of increasing juvenile violence, as do many parents. The actress interviewed Nadia Rigatou for the show Weekenders and her position was clear.

Vicky Volioti even talked about her decision with her husband Simos Sarketzis to adopt their daughter stating that this was a thought she had always had.

“I was thinking about the possibility of adoption from a young age. It’s something I’ve always had in the back of my mind. That is, if I have children, if I want children, I would like to adopt. It is something that did not come from the sky or out of necessity” said Vicky Volioti and was then asked by the journalist about the phenomenon of the increase in juvenile violence:

“I don’t think that juvenile violence is a phenomenon that suddenly appeared in the last two months – three months. I think it’s just that now we’re paying more attention to it, they’re being heard more, they’re getting more exposure. It is a multifactorial issue and it definitely has to do with the school environment.

The school has ceased to be a place where we gather to get in touch with knowledge, education, cultivation and familiarization with society. I think it’s just a place to gather and babysit, but we parents also have a big responsibility, it’s definitely social too” he said and continued:

“My daughter doesn’t go on social media, Anna doesn’t have a mobile phone yet and she doesn’t ask for one. She doesn’t have a tablet of her own and when I’m with Anna I make sure I’m with her and we hang out. It seems crazy to me, that is, let’s go, let’s say in the summer let’s go eat somewhere, in a tavern and give her the mobile phone”
