The auction topped $21 million, with more than 4,500 fans of the show bidding on a piece of memorabilia from the epic series
His fans Game of Thrones had the opportunity to participate in a unique auction organized by Heritage Auctions in Dallas, with over 900 items from the legendary HBO series.
The auction ran Thursday through Saturday (Oct. 10-12) and raised more than $21 million, with more than 4,500 fans of the series bidding.
The most sought after item was the “Iron Throne» which was sold at just 6 minutes for $1.49 million.
In the epic series the throne symbolized the struggle for power. It was created after an order given by Aegon the Conqueror, to the Dragon of Valerion, to melt with his hot breath a thousand swords of his defeated enemies during the War of the Conquest.
In addition to the “Iron Throne”, more than 30 objects “caught” a six-figure number, reports AP.
Two more items that caused a “bidding battle” were the infamous Longclaw sword of Jon Snow held by Kit Harington which sold for 400,000 dollars.
A suit with an impressive cloak of the star was won by a fan by paying 337,500 dollars.
“People wanted a piece of the magic of Game of Thrones,” Joe Maddalena, executive vice president of Heritage Auctions, said in a statement.
