The actor mentioned that playing a real character feels like being in a relationship…
Actor Sebastian Stan said it would take “two years to get over” the role of the former US president Donald Trump who starred in the movie “The Apprentice”.
Speaking to the PA news agency, the Romanian-American actor said playing a real-life character feels like being in a relationship and said learning his tics is “like learning a musical instrument.”
The film, which was screened at the London Film Festival (BFI), tells the story of Donald Trump’s career as a property businessman in the 1970s and 1980s.
The movie “The Apprentice” has caused controversy since it was released on October 11 in the US, ahead of the US elections in November, in which Donald Trump will seek a second term as president, against the current vice president Kamala Harris.

“It’s so technical, and when you’re trying to play a real person, you want to understand their tics, their mannerisms, their way of speaking, and it’s not natural. You just have to practice it like learning an instrument every day more and more, and eventually you can do it in your sleep.” noted Sebastian Stan.

“I liken it to a relationship, losing a character’s mannerisms is like breaking up with someone and being told, ‘How long have you been in the relationship?’ And you answer: “Two years” and they tell you: “It will take two years to get over it”.
