Game of Thrones fans they have every reason to be happy, since as it became known Warner Bros. has begun laying the groundwork for at least one movie set in George RR Martin’s beloved fictional world, according to “The Hollywood Reporter.”

There is currently no director, cast or script, but Warner Bros. is excited to bring the rich narratives of the Seven Kingdoms to the big screen, according to the report.

Originally, David Benioff and Dan Weiss envisioned completing the series with a film trilogy instead of the 2019 finale, while Martin himself had hinted at the possibility of a film as early as 2014. The massive success of the series has already ” spawned’ a number of spin-offs, including HBO’s ‘House of Dragons’. The show recently finished its second season and has already been greenlit for a third.

Last April, Kit Harington, known for his role as Jon Snow in ‘Game of Thrones’, revealed that plans for a spin-off sequel focusing on his character had been shelved. We are looking forward to it…
