Maíra Cardi is charged by real estate after allegedly abandoning property in Rio

Fitness coach and influencer Maíra Cardi, 38, is being accused of abandoning an apartment in Barra da Tijuca, Rio, and is responding to a lawsuit at the city’s 37th Civil Court. In the process, she is charged for unpaid rents from June to October 2020, property repairs and procedural costs. The value of the case is R$ 198 thousand.

According to the Rio Court of Justice, the plaintiff, Araguaia Empreendimentos, claims that Maíra left the apartment keys at the condominium entrance without any prior notice and abandoned the property.

The real estate company claims that it learned of the abandonment when a neighbor of the apartment made a complaint to the manager, because the property rented by Cardi Produções, Entretenimentos e Treinamentos caused an infiltration.

Maíra’s defense denies the accusations, claims that she renovated the apartment for more than R$ 1 million and increased the value of the property. The former BBB asks for the declaration of discharge of the rents and the termination of the contract and other charges. It also requests the return of more than R$ 17 thousand referring to the deposit payment.

Maíra revealed on Thursday (10) that she asked her husband, Arthur Aguiar, 33, who is confined to Big Brother Brasil 22, if he wanted to enter the reality single or married.

“The BBB is a challenge for anyone […] You spend three months in prison, away from everything you like, vulnerable, needy… Anything can happen, nobody knows,” Maíra said in a video on Instagram.

“We’ve seen several stories of married people who came in and were vulnerable and it went bad. This can happen, it’s human beings”, he continued, citing Adriana Sant’anna, from BBB 11, who was dating, but got involved with Rodrigão in reality.
