Padma Lakshmi she’s crazy with her poses. Last Tuesday, Pirelli launched her calendar at London’s Natural History Museum and the 54-year-old presenter celebrated. It is the first time that she herself is photographed for this project. Entitled ‘Refresh and Reveal’, the 51st edition of the calendar features glamorous faces photographed on the beach as well as in the studio.

The photography was done by Ethan James Green and Padma Lakshmi she “uploaded” behind-the-scenes videos of her photo shoot to Instagram. In the interview accompanying the diary, Lakshmi was asked: “How do you approach nudity when modeling in our post-MeToo era?”. With Lakshmi aptly replying: “It’s difficult. I modeled in the 1990s and it was a lot more free back then. I think we have become much more conservative today. However, many of the things that were happening in the 1990s had to go away. But I don’t think nudity is something to be afraid of, because I think the female body is one of nature’s most beautiful creations.”

In an interview with “People”, the model had stated, among other things: “I was really so happy to be part of this project and it felt good. I felt taken care of. I felt safe. I felt elegant. The posture in the water is a posture of peace. I think that’s how I feel at this point in my life and that’s a great feeling, which I haven’t always had.”
