O’Brien is best known as host of “Late Night with Conan O’Brien” from 1993 to 2009, after leaving David Letterman and “Conan” from 2010 to 2021
Conan O’Brien will host and emcee the 97th Academy Awards, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced with video showing the American comedian and television producer holding the statuette.
“This is unbelievable. They have given me an Oscar. I’m an Oscar winner. It’s amazing,” he says, feigning shock.
An off-camera voice corrects him.
“No, you are the host” says the voice.
“Oh, I’m a host? Am I hosting the Oscars?’ states. “But can I still keep the Oscar?” he adds.
When they take the trophy from him, he announces the date of the 2025 Academy Awards.
“America demanded it and now it’s happening: Taco Bell’s new Cheesy Chalupa Supreme. In other news, I’m hosting the Oscars,” the Emmy-winning TV host, writer, producer and comedian added in the post on X about the first time he’ll be emceeing the Oscars.
