Marilyn Manson agreed to drop a defamation suit against his ex-fiancée; Evan Rachel Woodlawyers for both said.

The artist also agreed to pay Wood’s legal fees of nearly $327,000. In 2020, the “Westworld” actress publicly claimed that the artist, whose real name is Brian Warner, sexually and physically abused her during their relationship.

In a lawsuit Manson filed in 2022, he said his ex-fiancée’s allegations were “fabricated” and had “damaged” his career. Now, his lawyer, Howard King, said in a statement: “The artist wishes to definitively close this chapter of his life.”

Wood and Manson confirmed their relationship in 2007, with the couple getting engaged in 2010. However, the two split just seven months later. The settlement comes nearly four years after a criminal investigation into Manson has implicated multiple women. Manson has denied engaging in any non-consensual sexual acts.

In October, outgoing Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascon said his office’s sex crimes division was carefully reviewing new evidence and wanted to get “a complete picture” before deciding whether to file charges.
