The Take That singer and his mother share a close bond
Although Robbie Williams portrayed as an ape in the new biopic, ‘Better Man’, his emotional journey through the film is anything but inhuman.
“My mum currently has dementia and my dad has Parkinson’s and can’t get out of bed. So, I’m in a different part of my life right now.”says the famous artist.
But clearly, his father – for all his faults – was a big influence on young Robbie’s life, introducing him to the world of entertainment and entertainment.
“We are all survivors of childhood trauma”says the actor in his biopic. “Why did I want to feel true love?”he asks himself and continues: “All my songs are autobiographical, so I guess it’s about processing things that happened when I was younger and things that are still going on. I told my story, I sang it and I know this will touch a lot of people.”
The 50-year-old artist he recalls how the director, Michael Gracie, – the man behind “The Greatest Showman” and “Rocketman” – suggested that he appear as an ape, thinking it would have more of an emotional impact on the audience.
