For about six years, Father Fábio de Melo has been dealing with a frightening situation. He is pursued by a fan who believes in his supposed love for her. The situation was taken to the police, as trying to stop the attacks did not work.

“I have a fan who comes to the door, who is planning to marry me. She swears up and down that I’m in love with her, but that I’m weak and that I don’t have the courage to admit our love. It’s a scary thing” , he said on the program Sem Censura, led by Cissa Guimarães.

The religious man said that the stalker has already created dozens of profiles on social media and that he tries to block them one by one. “Now he’s in the police, there was no other way. [Já aconteceu] Everything you can imagine. Virtual madness.”

Even with the situation, which he defines as terrible, he said he understands the persecutor because, as he is a priest, he affects people in a spiritual way.

“Spirit doesn’t have many rules. This transition from the spiritual to the emotional, to the affective, is very narrow. A spiritual connection can arise that, for some, ends up becoming a physical attraction.”

This year, Débora Falabella stated that she has been stalked by a fan from Pernambuco for 13 years. The woman already appeared at the entrance of her condominium with suitcases asking to enter, but was blocked.

Afraid of the advances, which also occurred through intimate and intimidating letters, she filed a lawsuit against the woman for the crime of persecution, or stalking.

“It affects a lot of people, my family. It’s annoying. Annoying for everything, because I also want her to be well,” the actress told the newspaper. “It’s something I avoid talking about. Because there’s my story and her story, which certainly has problems. They’re making sure it’s in the best possible way, both for me and for her,” he said in an interview with the newspaper O Globo .
