Exhibition “Nautical Pastras: The years of Vienna (1956-1963)” at the Kalfagian Gallery

Following the two major retrospective exhibitions after her death, which presented the overall work of the distinguished sculptor Nafsikas Pastra (1921-2011) at State Museum of Contemporary Art and to Museum of Modern Greek Art of Rhodes and after the exhibition that had organized for her work the Kalfagian Gallery (2018), opens on Thursday 17/3 in the same gallery, Kalfagian (Charitos 11, Kolonaki) the presentation of her work Neatnessfocusing on the period of her work in Vienna (1956 – 1963), which the artist had mentioned in her text as “Period of innocence”.

The current exhibition sheds light, curated by the art historian Emmanuel Mavromatti, this creative period of research and experimentation, when the foundations of the reasoning evolution of the artistic process of Pastra are laid, centered on the idea of ​​Necessity and Nature. THE Nautical Pastra is one of the most important Greek artists with exhibitions and works in public spaces in Greece and abroad.

The exhibition at the Kalfagian Gallery is held under its auspices Austrian Embassy in Athens. Exhibition duration up to 30/4.
