The Challenges of Premenopause

Drew revealed that her first “flash” happened during her own show, in front of Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler, which made her realize that pre-menopause had begun. “Suddenly I felt like a heater was on, and I thought, Oh my God, what’s going on,” he said. These moments were for her an indication that something was changing in her body. From then on, she experienced heavy and frequent periods, which made her feel like she was “going back to adolescence”.

In addition, he noticed rapid weight gain – about 12 kilograms in a short period of time – and emotional fluctuations, such as sudden mood swings and increased stress.
What particularly frustrated her was the lack of medical knowledge and support. She said doctors often gave her general instructions, such as avoiding gluten and dairy, without fully explaining why or providing individualized solutions.

Although she has not chosen to use hormone treatments, Drew emphasizes a natural approach, such as using supplements and improving her lifestyle. She argues that self-care, stress reduction and prioritizing mental health are keys to coping with this phase. “Change in our lives should not be taboo. We can learn to accept it and face it together,” she said, encouraging women to share their experiences.
