Tom Hanks’ new film ‘Here’ has been criticized by former ‘Friends’ star Lisa Kudrow as ‘promoting Artificial Intelligence’.

The actress during a conversation with Dax Sheppard on the “Armchair Expert” podcast pointed out that the film “Here” is a harbinger of the crisis for the film industry.

“The only thing I got from the movie was that this is an endorsement of Artificial Intelligence. It’s not that it will destroy everything, but what will be left. Forget actors, what about up and coming actors? They’re just going to license and recycle,” Lisa Kudrow said.

The Robert Zemeckis-directed film stars Tom Hanks and his ‘Forrest Gump’ co-star Robin Wright as a married couple who are part of a cast of characters occupying a unique location whose story unfolds over the years. . The film makes extensive use of an AI-based tool called Metaphysic Live for de-aging and face-swapping.

“What work will there be for the people? What will happen?’ the actress wondered. “Will there be some kind of living allowance for people, won’t you have to work? How can it be enough?’ he emphasized.

As reported by Variety earlier this month, the film “Here” is one of 20 vying for one of the 10 spots on the Academy Awards’ shortlist for best visual effects. It is one of three films that used human aging effects/synthetics with the help of AI-based tools. “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny” was previously shortlisted for the Oscars while having machine learning technology as part of Harrison Ford’s antiaging process.
