BBB 22: Vyni sang at a wake to pay bills and dreamed of doing medicine

Vyni, 23, has never hidden her humble beginnings. In his presentation video for Big Brother Brasil 22 (Globo), he said that his face “denounces that he is poor”, and he even had to sell a gas cylinder to go to an Anitta concert. But there are many other stories in his past.

Public servant Stephany Alves, 27, who is a friend and one of Vyni’s six social media administrators, told F5 that the Ceará native was once a family helper at the Pirão de Costela restaurant (which shares space with his house), supervised college projects, made art for invitations and even sang at weddings and wakes to pay the bills at the end of the month.

“It was out of necessity and as a hobby,” she says. “Vyni’s family is very humble, without exaggerating. He has gone through a lot of trouble in this life. While he was in the selection process for Big Brother, at times he didn’t even have money to pay the house’s energy bill, and he stayed on candlelight. But thank God he never went hungry, because his grandmother and father always fought to make sure that never happened” —Vyni’s mother is separated from her father and lives in São Paulo.

Stephany, who met him about seven years ago in a church youth group, says that Vyni has always studied with a scholarship, including in college, through the Prouni (University for All Program). “He always tried hard to win in life, but he still has difficulties”, she says, hoping that the BBB will help him change his life. The production of the reality show even gave some pieces of clothing to the participant, who had a limited wardrobe.

Vyni ended up graduating in law at the Regional University of Cariri as a “plan B”, since her dream was always to study medicine, according to her friend. He took the entrance exam, but failed to pass.

Even in law, he excelled: he was awarded a college degree and won a scholarship to attend a graduate degree of his choice just before joining the BBB. However, Stephany believes that he will continue with his career as an influencer, which he has been betting on for more than a year through humor videos, calling himself “low-income influencer”.

Since the BBB 20, which had Thelma Assis as the winner, however, plans took a new turn and Vyni began to speak more often about his desire to enter the program – and Stephany believes he even tried to enter last year’s edition. His profile, according to her, was favorable.

“Vyni is an extremely intelligent person and has a very quick thinking. He is very observant, so when he is quiet at the BBB house, he is analyzing every move and word”, says her friend. “We need to see the shady side of him, which exists. I don’t know if he doesn’t show it out of fear… But he showed another true part, of being a calm person, who doesn’t seek confusion for no reason. Who is always there to comfort, and at the same time it’s funny – yes, he’s very clumsy. He’s already broken countless slippers walking down the street, fell off his chair…”, he jokes.

And he continues: “He puts himself a lot in the other’s shoes, prioritizing others over himself. I observe that at times, he forgets about him to take care of others. It’s a quality that is at the same time a defect, especially in a game like Big Brother, where you have to put yourself first to win.”

Even if the dream doesn’t work out and Vyni leaves BBB 22 this Tuesday (15), Stephany believes that the participation was worth it for what he evolved as a human being. “I noticed that some ties were cut inside. He exposed himself and opened up more, which opened his heart to all of Brazil, and it’s very incredible to see this evolution”. Who knows, the doors to a future singer will be opened.

ELIEZER AND SEXUALITY

Vyni “openly” came out with her sexuality to her family the day before going on the show, but according to Stephany, they already knew. Among friends, the Ceará native did not hide the reality and his acceptance by acquaintances was calm.

“The only thing is that his mother is a very worried person and was afraid that he might be attacked in the street, humiliated or suffer any kind of prejudice”, says Stephany.

At the BBB 22 house, Vyni got emotional in conversation with Slovenia when she recalled when she heard that she would never be in the “kingdom of heaven”, and that being in the church would not change that.

The Ceará native has also said that he lost his virginity at the age of 22, and his friend says that this comes a lot from the shyness and insecurity he suffers with his own body. “Just for him to enter the pool in his swim trunks is already a victory. Before, he used to wear a t-shirt”, she recalls. “We always talked to him that it was bullshit, that he’s a perfect person. But he was always very insecure.”

For that reason, she believes that he is not in love with the participant Eliezer, despite the declarations of affection in the reality show. “He is a very affectionate person and at the same time needy. He spent a lot of time holding himself, despite people knowing about his sexuality. Eli was a person who welcomed him, who gives hugs, and for Vyni being away from family and friends , he approached with the intention of filling this longing”.

And he added: “Vyni in love is totally different. He moves away from the person, he stays more in himself. He doesn’t give himself up like he’s doing with Eli, he’s even afraid to show it.”
