The famous actor Mel Gibson revealed that his home was destroyed by the deadly fires in Los Angeles while he was away recording a podcast with Joe Rogan.
The Oscar-winning movie star said his Malibu property was “totally burned down” and slammed California Governor Gavin Newsom.
At least 10 people have died in the fires, which have burned thousands of buildings and forced the evacuation of tens of thousands of residents. Many celebrities have announced that they lost their fortunes in the fiery inferno.
Gibson said he was not feeling well during his visit to Austin, Texas, as he knew his neighborhood was on fire.
“It’s devastating, emotional” the actor continued. “I was relieved of the weight of my things, for they were all turned to ashes,” he still said.
Mel Gibson reported living in his property for about 15 years and that his neighbors’ houses also “disappeared”, including the actor’s property Ed Harris.
He also said his family had followed the evacuation order and were safe.
In the podcast with Rogan, Gibson criticized the California governor, saying Newsom claimed he would take care of the forests, but “he didn’t do anything.” “I think all our dollars probably went to his hair gel,” he said scathingly.
