There are characters that mark an actor’s career, and Juliana Silveira, 44, knows this very well. Twenty years after playing the protagonist of the soap opera “Floribella”, shown on Band, the actress still has her name linked to the girl. “There isn’t a place I go where people don’t call me Maria Flor. It’s incredible,” he says.

And it was precisely because of this affectionate memory of the public that Juliana decided to create a show to revive the character. The actress wrote the script, gathered some friends and put together the show. Sponsorship? There isn’t. She is paying for the production out of her own pocket. Do you know how to invest in a dream? So it is.

“I have some support, but the money is all mine. I invested in these first four shows (the last one, at Studio Stage, in São Paulo, this Saturday (25th), is already sold out) to see that it was possible”, he says . The team has 15 people, “it’s a big project”, according to her. “The intention is to go to other cities, bigger stages. What I don’t lack is love, courage and the desire to undertake.”

Juliana started as Angélica’s stage assistant at Clube da Criança, on the now defunct TV Manchete, and later attended Globo’s Actors Workshop. At the Rio station, she acted in productions such as “Malhação” (1999 and 2002), “Laços de Família” (2000), “Brava Gente” (2001), among others, until she was called by the Band to star in “Floribella”, in 2005.

The actress had the chance to return to Globo two years later, but declined the invitation. “When I went to talk to the directors, they offered me a prostitute during prime time. I couldn’t accept it due to a contractual issue still in force for 12 months, because of Maria Flor’s image. They didn’t call me again”, he recalls.

She went to Record and ended up staying 11 years. “I matured at the network. I got my first protagonist in a mature soap opera, “Chamas da Vida”, from 2008, a hit with the audience to this day. Everyone also loves Carolina. Then I started doing other and more other jobs around the house”, says she, who is currently in the series Estranho Amor, on AXN, based on real cases of feminicide in Brazil.

“I also have some tests to do. But my head is very much focused on this ‘Floribella’ project. I’m hoping it works, but I can’t stop. I have to keep chasing work, and that’s what drives me” .
