BBB 22: Gustavo was once an athlete and has plans to create a gastronomic business

Dogs, beach, friends, family and Palmeiras. These five things are basically what moves Gustavo Marsengo, from Paraná, from Curitiba, 31, who left the famous Casa de Vidro of Big Brother Brasil 22 (Globo) to shake up the game of the other brothers of the program after a start of little movement.

Not afraid to declare himself a player and willing to make everyone go through the Paredão, he won fans. For his mother, nothing different from what she expected. Banker and psychology student Sandra Regina Batista, 58, says her son likes eye contact, speaks his mind and has many dreams for the post-BBB season.

“He is a loving, charitable, altruistic person. Several times he has come home shirtless for giving someone something to wear on the street. He likes to defend his ideas, but also to listen to those of others. He has never spoken behind someone and that can be seen there on the reality show”, she says in a conversation with the F5.

The childhood and adolescence of Paraná were quite peaceful. Sandra, or Sandroca, as Gustavo and his older sister, Flávia, call her, says that her children never had any difficulties, as her family comes from the middle class and fortunately she never lost a job.

In school days, the boy didn’t give much trouble and used to be an average student. The sport that he liked so much helped to give him the discipline he needed to reconcile his studies with the desire to be an athlete.

“His first job was as a volleyball player, from 12 to 17 years old. But knee surgery took him out of that sport. At the same time, he started doing work as a photographic model. He also entered law school”, recalls his mother.

After seeing his sports career over and trying his luck on the catwalks, Gustavo ended up doing better in the field he studied. He worked for nine years at the Paraná State Court of Justice as an advisor to a judge.

Last year, after quitting his job, he found himself “recalculating the route,” as his mother puts it. “He has in mind projects to undertake in the area of ​​food, because he likes to cook. But this will be for after the program, because his plan A is the BBB”, she points out, stressing that her son never intended to be famous, “but your life must change now”.

Gustavo is a fanatical fan of Palmeiras, as he has shown in the BBB. According to Sandra, he does everything for Verdão, as well as for the two dogs he treats like children. “He has always been fanatical in a good way, because he leaves everything to see Palmeiras, he has traveled abroad to watch games, he has stopped doing important things for his team. He likes football a lot”, she explains.

“But his greatest joy is living with his two dogs, Zlatan and Kyara. When he’s with them it’s an inexplicable joy, it looks like he was a dog in the other life (laughs). Today, he has two Labrador retrievers who are like children, he loves nature, the beach, his joy and being at the beach with dogs.”

According to Sandra, her son wants to start a family, but “only ten years from now”. Asked if Laís, a sister who is Gustavo’s girlfriend in the house, would be the perfect daughter-in-law, she leaves everything in her son’s hands.

“He has dated seriously two or three times, at most two years. The daughter-in-law’s question will be what he chooses for him to live with. I will love together and welcome my children’s choices always.”

Sandra and Gustavo’s father, Antonio, have been separated since their children were between six and seven years old. However, she says that the relationship remains a friendship and that Gustavo and his sister have in them a reference of a happy and consolidated family.

FEAR OF CANCELLATION AND STRONG OPINIONS

In Gustavo’s presentation video, he called himself “top straight”, an expression that nowadays is linked to the fact that a man is toxic and sexist. However, when watching it on TV for the first time, Sandra says that she was surprised at the way the boy was portrayed.

“His presentation video was edited to be shown whatever they wanted. Yes, he was always an opinion guy, he doesn’t feel like saying what he wants. People judged him for a part and didn’t contextualize it, and that’s what happens a lot on the internet today”, says Sandra.

For her, that could have harmed her son. “People don’t think about what they’re reading, seeing or listening to and they already fall over, criticize. It’s an immediacy and they don’t wait to know. “, he defends.

Although she says she has already received messages from people who said they didn’t like her son, Sandra says that neither she nor anyone in the family is afraid of cancellations.

“From the moment you become a public person, people are hasty and take attitudes out of context. This fear in the family of canceling it doesn’t exist. Everyone has the right to speak, but what we repeat at home is that we also need to listen.”

It is precisely because of this that Sandra says she is proud of what she sees of her son on the show. At BBB 22, he has already dated Laís under the duvet, has already separated from her after not feeling like a priority and has already resumed this romance.

He also went to Paredão and came back, won the Bate e Volta competition with a spectacular comeback, made alliances, fought in the Discordia Game and moved the game by giving the first indication to Bruna and at the moment he made other people vote for Eliezer to save the girlfriend.

“When I watch the game, I see that my son hasn’t dressed a character and is being consistent with his speech since the beginning. He identified with DG and PA, as they have affinities and issues in common. And this helps in the strategy of having allies. And if the strategy is working, you will also need to rely on luck in the races to get far”, concludes Sandra.
