“Literally,” synthesizes singer Leo Santana about the genus Pagoda has his own identity and deserving to be the theme of Salvador Carnival in the future. This year, the theme of Soteropolitano Carnival is about the 40th anniversary of Axé Music.

“It is a genre that, as much as Englobe, like Axé Music, has its different characteristics there, musically speaking,” says Leo Santana about Pagoda, quite popular in the streets of Salvador, in an interview with F5 This Saturday (1st).

“I believe, I believe, I’m always from God’s time. One time or another there, it will come, if they are no longer thinking about,” says Santana about the Pagano becomes the theme of Salvador Carnival.

“Especially me, as a representative and a good pagoda, I’ve been thinking a lot about it, but we need to gather the great artists of the pagoda and talk better about. There are a lot here for us to externalize from Salvador Carnival and reverberate to Brazil as well as Axé Music,” he concludes.

“There are some milestones,” says Santana about the origins of the pagoda. “Since ‘Come, Neném’ with the Harmony of Samba, since it is Tchan with all themed CDs in Japan, Hawaií”, also remembering his old band, Parangolé, and Psirico.

“Pagoda has been excelled for many years at Salvador Carnival, with a sequence of editions that has been gaining as Carnival music, so this shows the strength of the movement,” says Santana, who in 2010 was the singer of the band Parangolé, owner of the carnival success “Rebolation”.

This year, Leo bets on “Beating Toma” to be Carnival music. “It’s together,” says the singer about the process of choice of music. “Of course, I record what I identify with, but the big response of us is on stage, I’m very stage artist,” says the dynamic Leo Santana.

“Sometimes it ends up giving us a mistake because the internet breathes a certain kind of song and the street breathes another.”

Shortly before running his trio This is Pop, which this Saturday pulled the Block Nana, on the Barra-Ondina circuit, the artist hummed “Chame Gente”, by Moraes Moreira, and “Summer Prefix” by the band Mel. “These songs have a lot to do with the carnival mood and are my favorites, he says about his fan days before he started his career.

Each day, this is pop, Trio de Leo Santana, has a theme, such as cinema and video game. “Too much, you are crazy? I have to this day, I’m a fan since kid,” says the artist about his passion for video games, showing a tattoo of the game “Street Fighter” on his calf to prove.

“Being able to bring this a little to our carnival, I think it also pierces the bubble a little, as much as this year we have been honoring the 40th anniversary of Axé Music, and I am already part of it with all respect and honor,

“Why not come representatively in general mode, popularly speaking? ‘This is pop’ already says everything. Video game is pop, axé music is popular, Leo Santana is a popular artist, so we entered all this,” concludes Santana.
