Singer Daniela Mercury again criticized singer Tony Salles for approaching her with her trio at Salvador Carnival on Monday (3). She said she doesn’t care about the criticism for answering the pagoda.
“Position me and impose myself in the face of situations like this is considered by many to be a chilique, an exaggeration, just because I’m a woman and LGBT+. It was violent what he did. I don’t know if he would do with Bell Marques the same,” he said in an interview with UOL.
Daniela Mercury lamented that the subject gained more repercussion than her work at Carnival, which for her was positive, but she says she understood the case.
“Too bad that an act of total disrespect of a colleague with me has drawn so much attention in this carnival, which was spectacular for me and important to the genre,” he said.
“About this situation with Tony, if my wife, who is an experienced journalist, had not immediately clarified what happened, public opinion would be blaming me for Tony’s delay,” he concluded.
Remember the case
Daniela Mercury and Tony Salles exchanged barbs at dawn at the Dodô Circuit (Barra-Ondina) at Salvador Carnival. The Bahian did not like the rapid approach of Salles’s trio, which resulted in an audio failure.
When he realized that his colleague’s train was approaching, Daniela stopped singing the classic “Maimbe Danda” and began to face the artist. Then it rage.
“Very ugly touching us like this, see? Carnival can’t be like that, see, Tony? Respect I’m not a kid, boy. It was ugly,” she said in the microphone.
After hearing the complaint, Salles replied from his trio. According to him, the reason for the hurry was that he had other events already scheduled and, therefore, would have to present himself faster.
“We are a little busy today. I apologize to you, because it delayed the departure there and you need an explanation. The route is to be done in a while and people sometimes end up holding the route and delayed,” he began.
“The trio needs to walk. It was made to walk. We need to respect each other, it’s not because I’m a pagoda band, which I’m peripheral, suburban, which is to disrespect me,” he complained.
