Tiago Leifert announces the creation of a channel about football after leaving Globo

by

Tiago Leifert, 41, announced this Monday (21) that he is creating a YouTube channel to comment on football. The former BBB presenter, who left the station last year (after he revealed his daughter’s health problems), will be joined by Rica Perrone and Eduardo Semblano (known as Fui Clear).

“Football does me a lot of good,” he explained. “Watching, playing or talking about. In the middle of last year I decided to stop everything, review my priorities and get closer to my passions. Like CR7 who left the wing and got closer to the goal, I decided to do the same: stay more close to everything that gives me the most joy.”

He said that the desire to return to his origins (he started at Globo as a sports reporter) occurred after recently participating as a guest on a broadcast. “The invitation to participate in Paulistão on YouTube just proved to me that I really need to dedicate a piece of my time to the sport again, I feel too good,” he said.

Leifert said he intends to start unpretentiously. “I’ll start with the simplest way: a YouTube channel, which for now is a review! It’s just to talk about football. No pressure, no plans for domination. No grid! If you have 5 subscribers or 1,000,000, it’s all the same for us, what we want is to talk about the ball.”

He also talked about the new companions. “I’ve known Rica for about 15 years, since I was a reporter,” he said. “Edu caught my attention at the 18th Cup, I accidentally bumped into his profile on Instagram, Fui Clear, and I saw a guy saying things that no one had the courage to in that Cup.”

“The three of us disagree on several issues, we agree on several others, but the most important thing is that we have the same principles and they will govern our review: respect for football, respect for the national team. [brasileira] and respect for the athletes”, he said.

“We are in favor of celebrations, in favor of the dribble, we support Brazil even in a friendly under-15 and we believe that there is a person before a player”, he continued. “That’s why maybe our engagement is zero!”

“The algorithm is no longer used to those who really like football”, he evaluated. “It doesn’t matter. It’s all going to be done from the heart, the way we believe. It premieres this Wednesday the 23rd, 11:30 am, without a map, without rehearsal, without strategy, but with the most important thing: love for the ball. I put the bell to remember whoever wants to. Let’s do what we love!”
