Preta Gil has been updated health after aircraft transfer: ‘stable’

Preta Gil, 50, who is admitted to the Syrian-Lebanese Hospital in São Paulo, had his health updated through a report released by the press office on Monday (7). According to the note, the singer is doing well. “She is clinically stable and being assisted by the hospital team.”

In the statement, the advisory reports that, upon arriving in São Paulo, Preta was evaluated by the doctors, who decided to continue with the treatment she was already performing at the Star Copa Hospital in Rio de Janeiro. She received specific medications, due to the fact that she is an cancer patient, and is treating a urinary tract infection.

Preta was transferred from Rio to the state capital in an air ICU this Sunday (6). The decision to take her to the Syrian-Lebanese hospital was taken to ensure the continuity of the therapeutic protocol in the same hospital where she was hospitalized for about two months, between December and January.

Black is not yet expected to travel to the US, where it should continue its treatment. In an interview with Luciano Huck on Sunday last Sunday (31), she talked about the trip. “Here in Brazil we have done everything we could. Now, my chances of healing are out of Brazil. That’s where I’m going,” he explained.

Preta Gil received the diagnosis of bowel cancer in January 2023. In December of the same year, he announced the end of treatment after undergoing surgery to reconstruct part of the intestinal tract and said he would continue in the process of rehabilitation. Despite the remission of cancer, the singer explained that she would remain under observation for the next five years.

In August 2024, Preta posted an Instagram video revealing that the disease had returned in four body locations: two lymph nodes, a peritoneum metastasis and a nodule in the ureter. In December, he underwent surgery of approximately 21 hours for tumor removal and had to place a definitive colostomy bag.
