Gilberto Gil says Preta Gil treatment in the United States is not yet confirmed

Gilberto Gil, 82, is going through the country with his farewell tour, “Time King”. Between one show and another, the singer makes a point of closely monitoring the treatment of his daughter, Preta Gil 50, who is still hospitalized at the Syrian-Lebanese Hospital in São Paulo. The artist faces complications arising from colorectal cancer, diagnosed in January 2023.

Preta has already announced that he has plans to perform experimental treatment in the United States, but, according to Gil, the decision is not yet confirmed. “It is not defined that it goes. It is depending on the evaluation of the laboratories, one in New York and the other in Los Angeles,” the singer told Veja.

During a show in Salvador last month, Gil paid tribute to his daughter by singing the song “Drão”, and highlighted the importance of her exhibition on social networks at this delicate moment. “This promotes solidarity and gives strength. Even if people do not do miracles, they help miracles happen,” said the singer.

Black has been hospitalized in Syrian-Lebanese for a week. This Sunday (13), received a visit from family and friends. In photos published on Instagram’s stories, the singer appears lying on the bed, eating acai, stirring on her cell phone and talking to her niece Flor Gil.

It was transferred by Rio de Janeiro air to Sao Paulo on April 6th. According to the medical bulletin released earlier of last week, its condition is stable, but not yet forecast of discharge. Before the transfer, Preta was hospitalized at the Star Copa Hospital in Rio.
