Prince William and his wife Kate visited a picturesque island in Scotland today to celebrate the 14th anniversary of their wedding and make their most important common trip to this year.

William, the successor to the British throne, married Kate Middleton on April 29, 2011, in the Westminster Abbey, at a ceremony attended by millions of people around the world.

They had met ten years earlier, when they were both students and studied at St Andrews University on the eastern coast of Scotland.

Instead of celebrating their anniversary in England, the prince and the princess of Wales, one of the most glamorous couples in the world, returned to Scotland for a two -day visit to the islands of Mal and Aiona, belonging to the island’s cluster.

They started their journey from the city of Tobermori, known for its colorful houses overlooking the port. They looked relaxed and smiled wide, while greening a multitude of passers -by who wanted to wish them, under the sounds of a bagpipe.

They visited a Community center before they came up with a market with handmade products, where they chatted with outdoor sellers and took pictures with locals.

With his posts on X, the couple shared photos in which citizens were greeted, including producers in a local market and thanked them for the “warm welcome and a perfect afternoon to Tubermori”.

They also said that they are proud to support the renovation of Aros Hall, an event room in the area.

British media have reported that after their official obligations, they will pass their anniversary to a small, isolated holiday home in Mal.

The journey is a rare public outing for the couple, who have three children, 11 -year -old George, 9 -year -old Charlotte and 7 -year -old Louis, since Kate underwent preventive chemotherapy to treat a cancer.

“Scotland is incredibly important to me and will always have a special place in my heart,” William said in 2021.
