Even before the Lady Gaga show begins at Copacabana beach in Rio de Janeiro, Madonna mockened on social networks by posting an image of her with Anitta and writing in the caption: “Born to Vogue! Kisses to Brazil”.
The X -shared provocation made a reference to Gaga’s song “Born This Way”, but adds the word Vogue, one of Madonna’s greatest hits. The publication again fed a supposed feud between the two.
However, the provocation turned around. After taking more than 2 million people to the beach, according to Rio de Janeiro, Lady Gaga had computed the biggest show than Madonna and one of the greatest women in history. Some of her dancers posted on the web a pinned celebrating the feat of the presentation to have surpassed that of the colleague, who in 2024, according to the city, recorded 1.6 million people.
It’s hard to dig a rivalry between Lady Gaga and Madonna, but in the past there have been other moments when fans were surprised by provocations between them.
In 2012, once again the song “Born This Way” became the center of the debates after Madonna included a piece of the song in its performance of “Express Yourself”, whose melody arrangements are similar. At the time, she also said: “She’s not me” (“she’s not like me”), which was labeled like a message.
The following year, the Magazine Attitude, Gaga was asked about it and answered. “I certainly don’t think of anyone but me and my fans when I’m on stage. The fact that I’m in Madonna’s mind, well, she’s Madonna. I admired her for a long time. I’m not sure what her intention was to sing my music, but I don’t care much.”
Last year, Madonna even said that a lot of people confuse both and that bothered her.
Even when Gaga released in 2008 his debut album, “The Fame,” critics were quick to compare it to Madonna due to the style.
In 2017, in Netflix documentary “Five Foot Two”, Gaga commented again about the controversies involving both. “I still admire her, no matter what she thinks of me. She didn’t look at me in her eyes and said I was reduced or something. It’s like a guy passing me a ticket through his friend.”
In 2019, apparently the mood became calmer after the two singers posed together for photo after the Oscar ceremony.
