Artists lament death from Pepe Mujica: ‘Changed my life’

Dead on Tuesday (13), Pepe Mujica, former president of Uruguay, left a legacy of social struggles and progressive political struggles. In the networks, Brazilian artists more linked to the social cause lamented death.

“Thanks, Professor Pepe Mujica, this conversation has changed my life. May the land be light to you,” Emicida wrote, along with a photo with former Uruguayan president. The two met in 2024, during the closing tour of the yellow album in Montevideo.

Gilberto Gil published a photo next to Mujica and quoted a Uruguayan phrase: “‘I mean the girls and the boys of our country that life is beautiful, but wear. The question is to start every time they fall and, if there is anger, turn it into hope.’ That friend Pepe Mujica rest in peace.
