The organizers honored the diva of music “to life” on stage the Dion’s winning song in 1988, with the participation of Marina Satti
Perhaps the best moment of yesterday’s Eurovision semifinal in the Basel of Switzerland (where Cyprus was excluded by the way) was Céline Dion’s recorded message to the spectators and fans of the competition.
The great singer had been invited to appear alive as the winner of the competition on behalf of the Swiss organizer in 1988, with Ne Partez Pas Sans Moi, but failed to attend due to the neuromuscular syndrome that afflicts her.
However, the Canadian star sent her love for the competition with a video.
“My favorite Eurovision family, I would love to be with you in the kingdom right now. Switzerland will always have a special place in my heart, because it gave me the opportunity to become something so important. When I won the contest in 1988, my life changed and I will be grateful forever. Music is our power, it accompanies us. A lot of kisses, ”said Celine Dion, while the audience at the stage was excited.

The organizers honored the diva of music “to life” on stage the winning song of 1988, which was performed by our own Marina Satti, the Jeerry Heil from Ukraine, Ilanda from Portugal and Silvester Belt from Lithuania.
Participants last year in the competition joined their voices in a special interpretation of the flagship song “Ne Partez Pas Sans Moi”.

However, there are still hopes that Celine Dion will eventually appear live on the Eurovison scene.
As the organizers of the competition said yesterday, negotiations with the diva of music are still ongoing.
“The situation on Celine Dion remains unchanged, we are still trying to do everything, we are in touch with her constantly,” they say.
On Thursday, May 15th, the second semifinal and Greece with Claudia and the song “Asteromata” will appear in 7th place.
The big final will take place on Saturday May 17th and will be broadcast directly by ERT1 with Maria Kozakou and George Kapoutzidis to give the commentary, as well as the two semifinals, conveying in their own unique way every moment of the night.
