In the European Network of Historical Gardens, one of the Council of Council of Council of Europe, the Garden of the Heroes of the Holy City of Messolonghi joined.

According to the municipality, “it is a thematic network that connects historical gardens and landscapes of high cultural and historical value, such as royal, botanical, monastery or mansion gardens, which have contributed to the history of European peoples.”

This integration, as announced by the Municipality, “is an extremely important distinction, as it recognizes the historical, aesthetic and cultural value of the heroes’ garden and integrates Mesolongi into a European map of cultural reference points.”

As the Mayor of the Sacred City of Messolonghi, Spyros Diamantopoulos, pointed out in his statements, “the integration of the heroes’ garden into such an important European network is also a honor and responsibility” and added: “It is the result of cooperation and strategic commitment. Mesolongi highlights its past and claims its future, with respect, quality and international orientation. “
