Didi Wagner talks about social media and says he preferred not to expose his daughters

by

Presenter, mother, paulistana and librarian. Adriana Golombek Wagner, better known as Didi Wagner, 46, balances all these characteristics in her daily life to be present in the media, TV and events, while being discreet about her personal life. Now, she is getting ready for the return of music festivals, the launch of a book and another season of Lugar Incomum, on the Multishow channel.

“I have this division, of who I am professionally and who I am personally”, explains the presenter. Her presence in the media has always been professionally oriented, as she doesn’t find her “personal life all that interesting”. For her, digital influencers have a talent for making ordinary things interesting and still inspiring many followers.

“For me, it made sense not to post much of my personal life, since my daughters were born”, he adds, in an interview with F5. Didi is the mother of Laura, 17, Luísa, 15, and Júlia, 12, fruits of her marriage to Fred Wagner. “When they were younger, I didn’t want to post a lot of stuff with them because they weren’t aware of what it would mean. As much as I’m their mother, I didn’t have the right to expose it.”

The presenter also says that “the decision to have a public life was mine, not theirs” and that now her daughters decide which photos can be published and how they appear on the networks. Despite this, Didi says that she sees a wonderful side in the internet world, which has even helped to improve issues of aesthetic pressure and beauty.

“Of course, the networks have a very perverse side, but they bring a reach to people who bring reflections, talk about self-acceptance”, he comments. She says that, over the years, she has realized that the media has brought a more representative, diverse and broader understanding of beauty, with fewer restrictions. “I have a very eye for beauty, I think it has to do with the fact that I’m a Libra,” she adds, jokingly.

But Didi is, yes, on social media, despite choosing to expose her professional life much more. Now, with the return of the Lollapalooza festival, which takes place this weekend in São Paulo, the presenter says that “everything is a little new”. Despite a “certain apprehension” due to the coronavirus, she feels a fulfilled side of her to be able to imagine the activities returning after two years of isolation.

“One of the very sad things about this pandemic was the association of the word agglomeration with a negative thing”, completes the presenter, who is responsible for covering the shows on the Multishow channel. She has also presented the Lugar Incomum program since 2006, and is preparing to record a new season in 2022, which will pass through São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Rio Branco, in Acre.

“It is very pleasant to see how the program has been adapting, transforming and evolving over time”, he adds. The last season was recorded in São Paulo, to show how the big city managed to resist the challenges and difficulties imposed by Covid-19. “We made a kind of ode to São Paulo, which is my city”, explains Didi, who is also preparing a book about the metropolis.

The project should be launched in November this year, and is titled “Minha São Paulo”. Didi, who has already written “Minha Nova York” (2010), puts together in the book a guide for those who want to know the city and enjoy its places. For the future, Didi hopes that life will come back little by little and that “we human beings can bring back the positive meaning of the word agglomeration.”
