About to release a new single in early April, Negra Li, 42, took a break from the studios to attend the last day of Lollapalooza 2022. The festival’s closing will be a super show by Planet Hemp, Emicida and other guests.

The performance replaces the band Foo Fighters, which canceled its participation after drummer, Taylor Hawkins, was found dead on Friday (25).

“Knowing that Brazilian rap will be in this tribute is exciting. I was just missing there! Rap has an indisputable relevance and importance for any culture, especially the Brazilian one, which is going through so many attacks in recent years”, celebrates the singer.

“It is a genre that has the strength to influence and discuss many things, such as politics, for example”, reinforces Negra Li who, in addition to the new music, is recording an album, scheduled for release in the second half of this year.

The singer hopes that national rap will have more presence at upcoming festivals. “Rap has already crossed the bridge and crosses any audience. I want to see Racionais MC’s and several other groups doing shows on the big stages, because we have the power and artists for that”, she says.

“Rap saved my life and we can’t help but talk about how many lives it saves in the periphery. That’s why my dream is that festival organizers have more of this notion of the presence of the genre”, she declared, who chose a comfortable look. and daring to attend the show of North American singer Kehlani.
