During the show of his new London tour, Beyoncé surprised the audience by paying tribute to Bahia directly from the stage. The presentation took place on Thursday (5), as part of the disclosure of the album Cowboy Carter, which marks the incursion of the artist in the universe of country music.

Suspended in the air at one of the most scenic moments of the show, Beyoncé spotted a poster between the crowd and did not hesitate to react. “Bahia is here!” Said the artist, smiling. The poster, held by Brazilian Renato, contained exactly this sentence, besides an image of the singer during her last visit to the state.

“She saw my poster! I can’t believe this happened!” Wrote the fan on the nets after the show, still thrilled with the moment. The record has virally viralized, reinforcing the affective connection that Beyoncé maintains with his Brazilian admirers.

In the publication’s comments, fans celebrated the singer’s gesture and asked, once again, that she brings the tour to Brazil. “She talking about Bahia gave me a thing here,” said @prenetaDobronx. Another fan joked: “Imagine her on the electric trio in Salvador… never goes down,” wrote @danibahia. Already @beybrasil added: “This tour needs to pass here. Brazil loves you, Beyoncé!”

Despite the euphoria, Cowboy Carter has so far has dates scheduled only in nine cities: London, Paris and six others in the United States. The absence of South America in the official calendar has been a cause for frustration for Brazilian fans, who will hope that new dates will be announced soon.

The album, released in March, mixes traditional country sounds with elements of R&B, soul and even experimental pop. With letters that address racial issues, cultural roots and belonging, Cowboy Carter has become one of the most acclaimed works in Beyoncé’s career.
