Leonardo became a subject on social networks after a presentation at São João de Campina Grande, Paraíba, last weekend. The singer was accused by netizens of being drunk during the show, but reacted to criticism with irony and good humor.

During a new show in Campina, he took the stage already aware of the repercussion and decided to play with the situation. “I promised I was going to tour in the Northeast and I wasn’t going to drink anything! I’m glad Jesus Christ doesn’t listen to drunk,” he said. Then he reinforced the joke: “No morals, good, because I’m going to drink!”

The spontaneous response laughed out of the public and went viral. The speech was mentioned by fans and published in fan-club profiles and X (former Twitter). “Give up, Leo is unwary!” Wrote the user @rhuabelo_. Already @luanascc commented: “Troop of those who really wanted a review with Leonardo. My dream to be his friend.” Another fan joked: “If I buy a ticket to his show and he’s sober, I go to court wanting my money back,” he posted @joaovbrs.

This is not the first time Leonardo turns criticism into a joke. Known for his irreverent style and to take the stage with a beer in his hand, the singer maintains a faithful fans base, which often defends his authenticity – in the most unusual moments.

The show in Campina Grande is part of its June party schedule in the Northeast. Even with the negative comments, the audience sang along and vibrated with the repertoire of country classics.
