Mylla Christie, 54, acted in soap operas such as “My Good, My Evil” (1990), “God Acuda” (1992), “Lady of Destiny” (2004), “Loves and Intrigues” (2007, in Record) and “The Adventures of Poliana” (2018, in SBT). But since 2008, she and her husband, businessman Tutu Sartori, began to invest in real estate: buy, renovate and resell.
The first – lucrative experience, by the way – in the retrofit real estate market, a common practice in the United States, excited the couple. Two years ago, they became realtors registered with the Regional Council of Realtors (Creci) and today owned a real estate that founded together in São Paulo.
Mylla says she continues to work as an actress and producer, but she feels increasingly involved in the new branch. “I never thought I had a talent for selling anything, but I don’t have it, girl!” She jokes.
Mylla’s husband is also excited to talk about the business and also how they share tasks. “This part of negotiation is all with herself. But if you have a floor, it breaks. It also helps me in decoration, chooses the materials, helps to see if the property has market potential. Anyway, it is very good and we work well,” Tutu sums up.
Their area of action is mainly in the gardens, in the west of São Paulo, prime area of the city. “One of the first things you learn in the real estate market is that the first thing to buy or sell is the location. The second and third too,” jokes Mylla. “We also created an expertise here in the neighborhood. We know who buys and who sells in these surroundings.”
The couple prefers to work with apartments from 100 to 200 m², especially old properties that need reform. “I know the market is moving to smaller apartments, new ventures, large condominiums, but for now, it doesn’t pay much to us. Maybe we open this range in the near future,” says Mylla.
She has fun with the reaction of customers in recognizing her as a broker. “They keep looking at that ‘I know you from somewhere’, and then, when they feel more comfortable, ask. Here comes intimacy. My clients saw friends.”
Mylla and Tutu reveal no values, but admit that she has gone a good deal to work in this branch. “It is a market always moving. We have already lost money too. We have already bet on high and have not had return. The market is so in any sector. But what really gives us pleasure is transformation. It is to see that all its work, all its delivery and its whim are worth it. It is creativity, and is art too,” says the actress.
