Today, Wednesday, June 18 at 14.45, “Where there is Greece” sails for Serifos. Elambia Revi and George Kourdis visit the island with the separate Cycladic air, the mines with the glorious history, the many and varied beaches and its separate villages. With them we know the “wild” beauty of the island, we hear human stories, but we also learn the problems faced by the residents of Serifos.
The country of Serifos, with its beautiful alleys, the houses in the colors of the Cyclades and its immersive views, compensates the visitor who has risen long enough to meet her. We also discover it, along with young women of the local cultural association.
Serifos boasts of the relationship between the visitor, the nature and the sea, since it has 72 beaches, most of which are non -organized. We know many of them by land and by boat.

The Municipality of Serifou was forced to take measures of a very serious crisis, when last year faced with the worst problem of water scarcity in the recent history of the island. The wells dried up, the water in the barrier was scarce and to extinguish a fire was used in 24 hours the water consumed by the place in two summer months. There was a disaster in crops and people did not even have the necessary for their daily lives. What happens from now on?
A first beekeeping photo award was the crowning of the work of a photographer who settled in Serifos and put bees. Honey on the island is rare thanks to the existence of lavender that gives it a unique smell.
The Serifian wine confirms the wine tradition of the island. The wine -growers have to deal with both the water scarcity and the unbearable animals that destroy crops. Despite the problems, however, their struggle for the revival of tradition brings very tasty results.
